Vintage original 22 x 28" (55 x 71 cm.) half sheet poster, USA. Deanna Durbin, Gene Kelly, dir:Robert Siodmak; Universal. Set in New Orleans, adapted from a novel by W. Somerset Maugham, and starring two actors (Durbin, Kelly), both of them much more clearly linked to lighter films in most of their careers, this film has gradually come to be realized as one of director Siodmak's most idiosyncratic noir masterpieces, with its intimations of perverse sexuality, and its fatalistic story, most of it told in flashback. Unfolded, there is a 3" (8 cm.) tear mended on back with brown paper, there are various small creases and smudges, but this is a really nice example of this scarce poster, and it is particularly unusual to find it in unfolded condition, VERY GOOD+.
